I’ve had plenty bad experiences here During my initial visit to Yarra Medical with flu symptoms, I called the secretary to book an appointment for a sore throat. Unfortunately, she didn't mention the restriction on entering the clinic with flu symptoms. Upon arrival, the secretary on shift informed me of this oversight, which could have been avoided with proper communication. In my second experience with Dr. Edward Skinner, I sought help for severe pain. However, his rough approach and lack of sympathy during the brief five-minute consultation left me dissatisfied. He provided no explanation for the pain and simply stated that it would pass on its own. My third experience was with a female doctor who took skin samples, sent them for testing, and prescribed medication. The subsequent appointment for discussing test results was scheduled via phone. However, when the clinic called with the results, a different male doctor conveyed them. This posed an issue as the condition diagnosed by the female doctor turned out negative. The male doctor, having not seen the skin condition, couldn't offer assistance. Despite the unhelpful appointment, I had to pay. Upon booking another session with the female doctor, she provided minimal help, advising me to return only if the skin condition resurfaced and at the very least said she would not charge me for the appointment. You would think that as health professionals they would aim to treat patients better, with more care and attentiveness. However that was not the case for me at all.

Went to see Dr Skinner for a checkup. Staff there are always so friendly and professional. Best doctors clinic in Melbourne. Having a real phobia of needles I was super stressed about getting my blood test. Mardella put my mind at ease and I literally did not feel anything at all. She was super gentle and efficient. I highly recommend seeing Dr Skinner and Mardella. A+

Disappointed at my experience at this clinic. I saw my regular GP who told me I needed to get my yellow fever vaccine- but unfortunately they didn’t have stock for the vaccine and wouldn’t get stock in before I left- so they suggested I find another clinic that could give me the vaccine. I called around and found Yarra medical. When I booked on Saturday they said hopefully they will have the vaccine. I asked them to make sure and they said they would. I didn’t hear from them for 2 hours so I called back again- and they said they will check with the doctor who’s been busy- I still didn’t hear back from them- so I just decided to leave them alone and wait till Monday. On Monday I called the clinic at 9am and they said they had enough stock for my vaccine. I came in at 10:30 for my appointment- when I arrived the reception team said unfortunately the doctor I’m booked in with cannot do the yellow fever vaccine (even though when booking I explicitly said I am booking the appointment only for this purpose). They said they can book me in at 350 with another doctor for it. I was annoyed but what can you do so I said I’ll come in at 3:50pm. When I had my appointment at 3:50- the doctor did a very brief history- he tried to do a full pre travel check up but I said that was not necessary I had already had it done with my regular GP and I was just here for the yellow fever vaccine. I then had my yellow fever vaccine. The yellow fever vaccine cost 170 dollars (when most other places charge 120 for it). The consult fee for an appointment (that I didn’t even need or want) was 103 dollars. In total I was charged 273 and screwed around a few times when my regular clinic if they had stock of the vaccine would’ve charged me much less. It’s a shame though- this clinic was much closer to my house- and I was thinking this could be my regular GP- but I don’t think so anymore after the poor experience I had here.

I travel 45mins just to come here for any pathology tests because Mardella is SO good with taking my bloods. I have a history of being difficult to take blood from as my veins are thin and deep but she does it effortlessly and painlessly every time. Recommend coming as early as possible because the queue to see her gets so long by the end of the day! Thanks Mardella!
